The defences for some faction is so huge, that you're just unable to defeat it, becaus you'll get so much attrition, that you're even unable to reach an enemy city. Microsoft (rather Xbox Game Studios) has been remastering their "classic" RTSs a bunch with DE editions for Age of Empires 1, 2 and 3 plus Extended Editions for Age of Mythology (current money is on a DE release of this in the future) and Rise of Nations Not sure how well Homeworld remaster did. With proper care a remake/remaster can be done as well. With the proper care, a sequel can be done.
Fallout was seen as a joke with their last game, that I can't remember.
